For some reason the compiz on my desktop is not working at times so I add to log out to restart compiz but I look on Ubuntu forum and found this command
Alt+F2
compiz --replace
that do the job with out the need of log out of Ubuntu.
the window don't have the | close | minimise | maximise bar
this window have the Close | minimise | maximise bar.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletethis is really useful information!
ReplyDeleteThanks, saved me rebooting and works for ubuntu 12.04b2
ReplyDeleteI am occasionally loosing the window edges in 12.04 and this is a nice trick to get them back.
ReplyDeleteIt gathers all the apps back to one workspace, but... still a lot easier that logging out.
Very very useful, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis is good but if you're running gnome and your video card does not support compiz, your window manager will be broken.
ReplyDeleteIn that case just run "metacity" again to restart it, you will need to do it from a tty prompt or SSH.
Great trick, very thank you !
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a very nice fix! Thank you!
