How To Restart Compiz Without Log Out The PC ?

For some reason the compiz on my desktop is not working at times so I add to log out to restart compiz but I look on Ubuntu forum and found this command
Alt+F2
compiz --replace

that do the job with out the need of log out of Ubuntu.
 the window don't have the | close | minimise | maximise bar
 this window have the Close | minimise | maximise bar.

  4. I am occasionally loosing the window edges in 12.04 and this is a nice trick to get them back.

    It gathers all the apps back to one workspace, but... still a lot easier that logging out.

  6. This is good but if you're running gnome and your video card does not support compiz, your window manager will be broken.

    In that case just run "metacity" again to restart it, you will need to do it from a tty prompt or SSH.
